Calendar for Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth, 2007-2008
January 14th, 2008: BAAY Spring Classes Begin
May 8th, 2008: Grease Jr., the Musical! Runs May 8-11 and May 15-18 at Sehome HS
May 20th: Spring Choir Concert 7 PM, First Congregational Church 2401 Cornwall Ave., B’ham, $5 Admission
June 26-30th: BAAY Choir Tour to Disneyland!

Bio of our piano instructor:
John Bisceglia has been a professional pianist and electric bassist for over 27 year. Mr. Bisceglia has enjoyed teaching piano and bass guitar for over 20 years, and maintained a private piano studio in Kirkland, Washington from 1996-2004. He is very passionate about Piano Pedagogy, Music Learning Theory, and Early Childhood Music & Movement, and considers teaching young children music and creativity to be a privilege and a joy. As a pianist he earned a BM in Piano Performance (cum laude) in 1993 from the University of Michigan, where he expressed his passion and skill for 20th century piano music by playing Stravinsky’s "Piano-Rag-Music" as a featured soloist in the annual Collage Concert and performing Charles Ives’ massive Concord Sonata from memory. As a bassist he taught at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and toured with the WCC Jazz Orchestra, Crowbar Hotel, and the Afromusicology Ensemble. Professional highlights include performing for President Reagan, opening for Dizzy Gillespie, and playing at the Montreux-Detroit International Jazz Festival, where he received honors for Outstanding Musicianship.
Bio of our Art Teacher:
Johanna de Vries is offering visual art classes at BAAY for ages 5 to adult. Johanna has an Associate in fine arts from Lower Columbia College and a BA in fine arts from The Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland Oregon, and has been a portraitist for the last 15 years. She has taught visual arts to children in Seattle and Bellingham schools for the last 10 years. Johanna's website, to view her work is
